We’ve reached milestones in 2024 💥
Three new seed library annexes have sprouted at the Napa Library, Carneros Resort, and the American Canyon Parks and Recreation community garden to make a total of eight in our network.
We distributed over 2,000 seed packets and held 12 in-person events to inspire and teach new gardeners how to grow and save seeds.
We added “behind-the-scenes” short videos to reach 1,500 Instagram followers and added beautifully produced, long-format instructional videos from DIYseeds.org to our YouTube channel.
In partnership with Clif Family, we established a dedicated space to grow organic seed. This year we grew eight heritage varieties to supply our seed libraries: desert chia, golden bantam corn, Tohono o’odham u’us mu:ñ cowpea, fish pepper, green pigeon pea, Jadu’i’ watermelon, Poona Kheera cucumber, and Copia tomato.
Did you access and benefit from our seeds, content, and activities this year? What did you grow, learn, return, or exchange at the seed library annexes, at events, or at home?
Our passion for serving community, inspiring gardeners and farmers, and expanding access to organic seed thrives through support by volunteers, community partners, and you. We look forward to 2025 and more great outcomes, and we need your help. To donate, tap the link below.

We’ve reached 51% of our goal to raise $3,500 this December. Will you help us reach it? To show how much we value you taking part, we have three incentive gifts to offer:
🎩 Donate $30 or more and receive a trucker hat or beanie, custom embroidered with the seed library logo. This is a perfect last-minute holiday gift for you or someone you love.
🫘 Donate $65 or more and receive Atlantic giant pumpkin seeds. Leonardo Ureña’s award-winning, 2,390-lb pumpkin won third place at the 2024 Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off at Half Moon Bay and he’s offered them as a gift to you for your support.
🍅 Donate $80 or more and receive two tickets to Tomatoganza! Meet us at the CIA at Copia on August 10th to celebrate the world’s most popular fruit and the local farmers who grow them at our annual tomato festival and seed-saving event.
Why donate? Your financial gift helps us provide:
✅ organic seed of special varieties
✅ seed annex supplies (envelopes, labels, how-to cards)
✅ software to produce social and print media
✅ custom designed and permanently mounted annex signs (I’m especially excited about this one!)
✅ materials for the Annual Seed Swap, Tomatoganza!, and other special events
Donate what you can, no matter how small or large the amount. Every dollar counts and keeps our mission viable; we really appreciate your support!
The Napa County Seed Library is a 501(c)(3) private foundation and your donations are fully tax-deductible.
